I find the grand jury's ultimate conclusion that there is insufficient evidence, even in light of their finding that the $10M was misappropriated (one could also use the word stolen from the poor children it was supposed to benefit), to pursue criminal prosecutions. Sorry, but what a crock of shit. It should be obvious to even the most brain dead that DeSantis, his wife, Moody and Uthmeier were core to the carrying out the "misappropriation." Let a jury ultimately decide after seeing what evidence exists and hears from all witnesses who amongst these crooks deserves to be found guilty and let the sentences fit the crime(s). The only issue I see is who would prosecute the charges. Uthmeier's office? Oh, yeah, sure. The DOJ and Blanche? Maybe when Hell freezes over. So, if that hurdle can be overcome through some impartial prosecutor, prosecute the bastards!

I was waiting for your comments. Yeah, saw it from CBS Miami. Gotta amplify this!!

The FL Dem party should be all over this. I have to imagine Angie Nixon's people will run with it as against Moody. Uthmeier is an obnoxious prick likely cloned from Blanche DNA and deserves to go down big time!

And there’s actually a good candidate running against him. José Javier Rodríguez.

He is! I hope he can get his name out more and people are paying attention that just because it says GOP next to James name doesn't mean hes a good choice. He isn't. He's a butthead

To the tune of Happy Days are Here Again! The more that Moody and Jimbo struggle, the more they incriminate themselves. Kinda like embracing Tar Baby. And, while the initial grab was $10 million, the Herald's deep dive located a total of $35 million diverted. (Not sure if that includes the $10 million that the taxpayers had to repay Medicaid.) To wit: "...$35 million in taxpayer funds originally intended for vulnerable populations [sic] to finance a political campaign countering two 2024 ballot measures. The funds were pulled through non-transparent transactions across multiple state agencies ,,, ." (Google AI source is Miami Herald). Where's the statewide grand jury when you need 'em? Or even Ingoglia's DOGE?

Oh, look: Ingoglia's office can't tell the media anything. Guess they use the autopen to sign their checks, too.

Somehow I missed at the time your piece about the "clownishness and menace" -- spot on -- deployed by AG Jimbo in his MLK Day pronouncement. Nothing like a follow-up to catch him in the fullness of his lying self. Roy Cohn had nothing on Jimbo.

Also, it's great to see the Hope Florida cast of characters expand to include "Judge" Guard -- especially in context provided by none other than the mealy-mouthed Rick Scott: In December 2025, Scott posted on social media: "Millions in tax dollars for poor kids have no business funding political ads." Thus, ending Guard's bid to go federal. Not that state appeals court is a bad gig.

Hi Jason, This is Carol Lerner from Sarasota. I spoke to you a couple of weeks ago at the Data Center forum in Venice and would like to invite you to keynote an event that the 30-member organizations of the Social Justice Alliance of the Florida Suncoast is sponsoring in October on Florida corruption. I will send you an email with the details. Given our recent school board victory (which I was very much part of) I think this will be an exciting event. Please look at the email and let me know your thoughts.
