I exist mentally in two worlds: 2026 Trump/DeSantis America and WWII Vichy France. The existential choices in both time periods are similar: resist, lay low and pray to be overlooked, or collaborate.

I hope for a Nov. 2026 wave election. However, the opposition party, the Democrats, are broken. Their putative leadership has an autopsy of the Nov. 2024 election that they won't let their voters see. Why not?
I live in 2026 and will vote Democrat local on up.ANY THING is better then any republican in state or federal office. Not once did they vote to protect our health insurance, our environment, our children’s education but voted all for taking away from The People and giving to corporations!!!

Our tactical concern in Florida is a MAGA supermajority in the Legislature, and the 8 out of 9 Florida Supreme Court appointees made by DeSantis. Not to overlook the dullards surrounding the governor, like AG Uthmeier, Cord Byrd, and Blase Ingoglia
Any strategic concerns are the purview of the party elite alone -- here and in DC, which are more concerned with place in the apparatus and lobbying for their special interests than achievement at the polls. Sure, I vote D every chance I get, but why doesn't the hierarchy respond accordingly and open up the process -- beginning with the so-called 2024 autopsy? And who now agrees that no primary was needed in Florida in 2024? And why were the pro-Palestinians in the party kept out of the national convention?
As far as public schools go - the McGraw Hill books is owned by a texas gop billion dollar guy - they are doing videos to tell students directly over and over again NOT to be whistle blowers.
Where is the "critical thinking skills" killed by the billions...

The individual bills they were voting on - they could have just voted no. While it didn't affect the bills passing - it was making a stand.
