Seeking Rents is teaming back up with Welcome to Florida for another live podcasting event and meetup.
Craig Pittman, Chadd Charland and I are headed to Jacksonville this time. We’ll be at Happy Medium Books Café on the evening of Friday, June 12, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The format will be similar to the two live events we hosted earlier this month in St. Petersburg and Winter Park. We’ll have a wide-ranging discussion on the role of independent media, our paths into podcasting, and the ways in which state government too often works against its own citizens. And we’ll leave lots of time for audience questions, too.

Craig is a Florida icon, a best-selling author and award-winning journalist. Chadd is a former radio personality, arts-and-culture writer and environmentalist who is now running for a state House seat in northeast Florida without any party affiliation. And their weekly Welcome to Florida podcast — which recently aired its 300th episode — is a must-listen for anyone who cares about the future of our state.
And I’m not just saying that because they recently had me on their show.
Truly, I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed our time together at our first two events — both for the thoughtful conversations about Florida journalism and politics but also for the opportunity to meet so many readers and listeners and make some new friends.
So obviously I can’t wait to do it all again in Jacksonville.
