Homeowners across Florida are getting crushed by the cost of property insurance. So what did state lawmakers do about it during their legislative session? Not much.
And yet again, NO protests, no screaming, waving banners in the streets. We've become such a dumbed down, complacent society we don't see what's happening. We accept & that will be the death of America.
Free markets are the problem. Consolidation and monopolization have pushed small businesses out. Publix brags about it. They roll up services around the community. They have flowers, (fake) bakery, poorly staffed deli, makeshift subs, cheese bar, international isle, tourist stuff, seafood counter.
What's left for anyone else? Then we have to work for $12 an hour and live where? The car?
WAIT ???? FOR WHAT??? They will put us in work camps because we can't afford rent, insurance, or a home. A 20% down for even 100K is 20K. Who has that money?
The honestly, local Floridians can not even afford one home or a rental. The average rent is $2000K everywhere in the state. I have no sympathy for snowbirds or any second homeowners. We have to make 100K a year to afford rent. It's not up to me to find roommates to subsidize the business person's labor costs. If business can't afford labor, then you can't have it.
Thank you Jason!!! For running and running :))
I support your substack. I hope others will too.
Thank goodness Nikki Fried is making good headway in this state.
"we" need to be out there waving signs.

We need a 4 day work week to save democracy. The other media won't even cover this info.
