NextEra the best managed public electric utility in the nation. Power costs 20-30% less than the NE or West. You wouldn’t know that because you live in FL. If you lived in Hartford or NYC you’d understand every month. Nice try, Jason but your math is bad.
Hi Tom. Appreciate the comment...Although I'm not sure what "math" you're referring to here. This story is about retroactively changing the rules of litigation to sabotage a pending lawsuit. What do FPL's rates have to do with the merits of that?
Also, what metric are you using for your 20-30 percent stat? I'm guessing it's the "typical" monthly bill metric that FPL usually cites (1,000 KW hours of residential service). But don't want to assume.
Average monthly cost per kWh. FPL vs: ConEd, Eversource, PGE. The delta is 13 vs 18, 28, 31. cents. Math is all that matters. Want to know what the operating cost of a FPL nuclear plant is versus the others. I can tell you that: it’s what I do. Lawsuits are topics debated by those who didn’t learn enough math to get hired in private equity. You’ll eventually find PI legal work more financially rewarding.
Mud slinging a governor not a promising line of work.
Quid Pro Quo. Massive campaign contributions by non-citizen companies, out of sight to most, assume special access and help in drafting laws that serve self interests at the expense of public interests.
At the base is a simple concept, Honesty. Some call it politics but in reality it is dishonesty at work on both sides, companies and public officials.
They call it Public Corruption. Kind of a misnomer, it’s not public at all. It’s meant to be secret and done quietly behind the scenes. Dishonesty and corruption have no place in Florida state government.
