There a couple contests in central Florida that need to be watched.

One is Rep Amesty who was just arrested on 4 felonies. She plans to continue her race even though she numerous irregularities in her business life as an administrator of a Christian School and College and illegal administration of Public Notaries.

Then there is Representative Douglas Bankson. He had many irregularities in he previous campaign regarding illegal signage violations. He cannot produce for constituents he full voting record. On items he sides with, he doesn’t understand what the amendment actually do.

Agreed, I lived in Orlando back 30 years ago for a short time. I can't believe what has happened there. When the religious Jesus world was opened - that was a sign to leave the state - yesterday.

The corruption in the state has never been this bad!! I have lived here 48 years!!

Yes, it was better (much better ) under Bob Graham . We have all been the frogs in the pot. The lack of local reporters has contributed to it. Just a few companies own our local news and they never say much bad (never actually) about a republican or DeSantis

The Orlando Sentinel, Sun Sentinel, Tampa Bay Times and Miami Herald do a good job holding all to account. The Orlando Sentinel broke the story of that shyster, Carolina Amesty. Committing 3rd degree felonies falsifying signatures on documents in which she is a Notary. Republicans will rarely admonish one of their own so it took the paper to get it over the finish line. She's the woman who stood on stage with Puddin' Fingers when he proposed the idea of building a state prison on the grounds of Disney. All Republicans on stage enjoyed a good laugh, even Fred Hawkins. Fred landed another patronage job as president of the Southern Florida College or whatever its called. Someone want to guess what he gets paid??

Oh.....

Yes, I subscribed to the MH. I do like them. But I had to make my own budget cuts.

Up north here, the Northwest Florida Daily has been demolished. The Walton Sun is completely gone. Now, all we have are the Bay Life community news (not journalistic) that's more about promoting religions.

The Pensacola News Journal is pretty good. They could use more support , I suspect. Pensacola has two very diverse groups. A blue, strong liberal one and a die hard insane crazy religious one.

How many Presidents of Universities or Colleges has Desantis hired in the last three years? The salaries are outrageous. Most are legislators that resigned for the jobs.. Is is a religious takeover of higher education? How many professors have quit in the last three years? Then the voucher program that pays 8,000 per student to go to any school( they are popping up everywhere) .. Mindboggling how fast someone can take a system down. Project 2025 in Florida already has used surplus funds. I have read in 3 years we will be broke. Interesting Desantis leaves in two . The next governor will take on a 8 year spending spree and bigger government like adding election police and a new State Guard?! Somehow the reigns were not used by republicans and it allowed a stampede of power to wipe out a lot of decent ethical issues. One issue is putting a whole generation of kids in a position of propaganda fed education by the like of Prager U. Check back in 12 years to see how that goes when they have been programmed…. Yikes

The corruption will get worse and worse as Ron has 2 more years. The Legislature could grow a set of balls but that is unlikely. It's not that the state budget is high, it's not at all for a state of 23 million people. Many agencies remain underfunded. In my opinion a personal income tax needs to be instituted to fund many agencies that the public needs. The examples are tremendous. NYS budget is $212 Billion for 22.5 million people. But we all know Blue states subsidize Red states.

AGREED ! They have used and abused the non income tax set up in the state for decades. We are a regressive tax state because most of these 6 month + 1 day tax dodgers send little here and abuse our resources.

While the rest of us pay out the yin yang for everything

Yes, the Florida agencies are under funded except for the slush fund jobs for republicans and their family donors.

Because they have been in power for 25 years, fleecing the old and senile into believing they vote for THEIR interests is just one of many reasons we are here today. Look at the FLDEP plan to savagely attack the state parks. BY the way, Pudding Fingers loves golf........They promote one thing but do the complete opposite. The public in Florida nees to wake the PHUCK UP already and start voting them OUT! It's the only way.

Desantis and his followers have fleeced our State. Just like Trump he is not in government to fix anything but to use each position as a stepping stone to the next position by giving the big businesses tax cuts while the little people pay out the a..

Article in today's Orlando Sentinel detailing the whistleblower at the FLDEP regarding the State Park to Golf Course land grab. Read it! It's an eye opener into the twisted world of the DeSantis Administration. He's says he's pro environment but this action says otherwise. Republicans profess one thing publicly but do the complete opposite behind your backs. The state wants to now fire the whistleblower. If there is a lawyer in Florida that wants to make a name for himself to defend this man, give him a call. It really shows the corrupt and sneaky ways this administration has been able to operate with a House and Senate full of "yes men and women". Shame on every single Republican and some idiot Democrats like Linda Stewart! When there is ZERO checks and balances, this is what you get. The whistleblowers name is James Gaddis, a single Dad to an 11 year old daughter is now out of a job. Somebody should hire him immediately.

Although we're read these articles in the past, reading them again is enough to pull your hair out. Anyone in Florida that continues to vote Republican deserves all the financial pain that is coming. An analysis by state economists in Florida pegs a budget deficit in 3 years ( $6.9 BILLION) in the spending isn't changed. The warning is that budget surpluses are over. One of the many culprits is the free-for-all school voucher program. We didn't see that one coming......said no one ever!
