Somehow this feels like a corner "shell game" and someone will be left holding the bag. Notice how they grew so fast and notice the campaign donations to the Republican Mafia of Tallahassee. If Florida receives 2-3 Cat 4 or Cat 5 Hurricanes this year, it could come crashing down on this "fix".

This is why I maintain that corporations should be taxed on their revenues rather than the easily manipulated “profits”. After all, flesh & blood persons are taxed on what you earn & not what is left over after expenses.

I'm not surprised. I always knew there was more to the story, now I know the facts. Thank you for the information!

Many do not know that Florida's division for managing corporate filings, called Sun Biz, does not know if information submitted by a company is accurate and has no way to investigate fraudulent filings. They do not care, essentially. So, say a company called LifeSync Technologies, LLC filed to become a Florida corporation and listed false information in official records. Say they mixed up addresses and names that would allow creditors and others to contact the company. Say they listed a box in a UPS store as the location of their company, but actually did not have an office or location for customers or creditor or investigators to find. Now, say the company decided to go out of business. In Florida, all you have to do is not submit the annual renewal form to Sunbiz. Sunbiz simply changes the status of the company to Inactive. That's it. No more LifeSync. Florida gives the impression there is truth and honesty and accountability with creation of Florida corporations and they are required under penalty, to provide accurate information and properly terminate existance with accurate information for customers and creditors and authorities. This is a mirage.

Secondly, there was a company called Continuum Labs that used the Slide Insurance scheme to wash public money. They had several ghost companies owned by the same people that submitted invoices with no documentation or substantiation to Continuum Labs to receive cash from a public economic development board. This information came out in a grand jury investigation. They were. never held accountable. That company morphed into another Florida company called CareSync which went on to lose up to fifty million before abruptly closing doors.

Shocking but not surprising. So I guess the rest of us should avoid our taxes and set up our home businesses in DE with an LLC shell game.

If no one pays Florida taxes anymore, what will happen to our bridges? Collapse is inevitable.
