Thank you for once again shining a light on the lack of regard for ordinary tax payers in this state. Our voice is not even noted among those that need to be heard if you can’t provide a large check with it. Disheartening to be invisible to those that could change the way of life here for so many citizens. Your continued insights are much needed.

It’s a vampire oligarchy economy of robber barons utilising its sycophantic GOP, who in reality and behaviour are not much more than common prostitutes, to suck dry and feed on citizens. Thanks Jason for being a voice for the people once again.

Great article Jason, it's always like reading a mystery novel only in the end, Republicans are always the bad guys. I had heard of Thomas Peterffy I never knew he owned that much land. My guess is he's sitting on the land to develop it one day. It's true, millionaires and billionaires don't need the handouts but the Republican puppies will do anything for their masters. The homeless situation will never be addressed by this legislative body. Much like Medicaid expansion in Florida. Does anyone know the REAL reason Republicans don't want to expand it to help those less fortunate?

Peterffy is probably thinking of putting an exclusive billionaire enclave city there. These “futuristic cities” are popping up all over the world, like the one in California, Saudi Arabia, or look at Discovery Land Company’s elitist global clubs. Places like Florida or Rio de Janeiro are set up that way now. Nice place to visit as a wealthy tourist, but not really live, unless you like paved over plants. Japan has become global expo tourism central, (as well as now a big defense manufacturing unit for the USA) cutting down its gorgeous trees in favor of sports arenas and expanding convention centers. DEJA VU? It’s a global private jet-setting oligarchy in their stealthy khaki and white threads, swinging their global capital, operating and moving far away from the maddened crowd and using culture wars to deflect any interest in their deeds. Now we know why the GEO Group is investing heavily in DeSantis— it needs to fill prison beds with hungry and angry dissidents tired of being homeless, while the billionaires eat cake and speculate on commodities that make the world starve. You should check out just how much Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley support China….. those fractional reserve banks know war is profitable. And are Florida Public Employee Pensions still invested in Russia???

Doesn’t make sense to me. Great job Jason for digging below into the sour smelling double dealing that is so common in FL politics.

The 2000 lost jobs in that area is devastating.
