An enormous amount of information explaining DeSantis' effective messaging. Building on his landslide election victory, he is on a roll taking advantage of Florida becoming a Red state. Voters embrace information that supports their beliefs with truth having little to do with it.

It’s no different than what Viktor Orban has done in Hungary or the Law and Justice party has done in Poland with respect to the media, courts and schools

It is very apparent that journalism throughout the country, and particularly in Florida is and will remain under attack by our right-wing, authoritarian governor for as long as he has the power to employ his minions to try to destroy legitimate news outlets. The same intent exists in other states where similar authoritarian state houses (like TX) wield similar power. Indeed, with the acquisition of nationally read (and more local) news outlets by private right-wing ownership, like Breitbart, Murdoch, Alden Global Capital, which purchased the Tribune group, and others, the very nature of journalism is under threat. We are heading toward a dystopian future, where, as in Russia, we will have to rely on brave individual journalists, like Jason Garcia, and small, private but hopefully permanent truth-tellers like "Seeking Rents", to publish what once would be found in our local newspapers, as there will no loger be such a thing!
