To protect the profits of private insurance companies, Gov. Ron DeSantis and the GOP-controlled Florida Legislature are forcing a public nonprofit insurer to charge inflated prices.
Sounds like a lot of Black people are about to become homeless and criminalised for it in Gadsden County, Florida. Surprise, surprise. Confederate Florida getting into high gear.
Great research. Well presented. The Florida government long ago forgot who they are serving. There are no checks and balance in Florida government when it comes to the environment or corporate profits. There is a tipping point where expenses of homeownership become unaffordable. Counting on home values to keep rising is a bad bet when buyers realize the skyrocketing expenses with no limits.
I don't care either way. The lot is worth more than we paid for the house 10 years ago so if it blows away at least it will only be with rental furniture etc. cash in on the lot and cross Florida off my list. Until then $2500 a week is mine.
And republicans will blame bidenflation for this

Florida is California…

And just think, if Nikki Fried were governor, this wouldn't be happening. Thanks for nothing charlie.
I willing move before I pay those prices.
Keep our house with NO insurance and AirBnb it.
Collect $2500 a week & hope for the best.
I thought we were supposed to "knock on wood" ?? lol. Come to think about it - that's never worked for me - you?

I was just making a joke ;) The DeSantis plan is to knock on wood.
Honestly, I don't blame you. Even if the Dems take out the majority in Tally, it's not going to turn things around again.
